My husband entered Hospice Care at Home just days before the Covid-19 pandemic became very real in the United States. He died seven months later. The changes in my life over the last three years are mostly about going from caregiver to widow and have little to do with a pandemic.
But that’s not to say the pandemic had no impact.
One example …
Instead of traveling in the spring of 2023 while John was still well enough to go places, we stayed home. Together we explored our creative side through the Facebook group The Creative Quarantine. From watercolors to acrylics, colored pencils to pastels, we both thoroughly enjoyed being challenged to draw or paint twice a week for several months. While I haven’t kept it up – I need the accountability of an instructor or doing it with someone – just the other day I wondered about pulling out the paint again just to play!
